Cherry Tree

cherry_tree.jpg

I stop by Caitriona's photoblog every few days. She posted this photo today and I've been staring at it off and on for over an hour now. The blue light and bronze leaves are fascinating. I'd love to discuss this shot if anyone has any thoughts.

  1. I like the position under the tree that this was taken. The colors is what makes this photo captivating
I took a picture like this under an oak tree in the back yard… I was laying on the hammock

  3. Danielle: Yeah – I had linked it to the image on her blog and it wasn’t showing up here until you visited her blog and the image cached in your browser. I don’t get it either. So I just copied it and posted the jpeg.

Dutch: To piggy-back off your comment – I think what appeals to me most is the feeling of relaxation this photo evokes. It’s as if I’m being delicately burried beneath leaves and light. I’m going to ask Caitriona if I can buy the larger image file to print it and frame it. I’d love to hang this somewhere where I can see it from my couch and just meditate and rest.

It makes me wonder what colors the leaves really are. I bet it’s the kind of tree that has dark purple leaves. I’m not sure what the name of the tree is and haven’t seen them in TX, I don’t think. It must be a CA tree.

thanks for fixing it. i agree with your comment on relaxation…i definitely sense that. it is a really striking photo. makes me feel like autumn, rather than spring…and lying on the cold ground as a kid as my dad raked leaves over us.

one of my favorite movies is called “taste of cherry” (1997, abbas kiarostami)

i couldn’t think of anything to add to the discussion of the photo, so i figured i would use the opportunity to digressively mention a movie instead which, as you know, is how i roll

    been doing okay lately, matt?
